Lauren Johnson, LMSW

executive director

A Destrehan native, Lauren received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Seton Hall University and a Master of Arts degree in Social Service Administration from the University of Chicago. She has worked in the nonprofit and education sectors for a decade with a particular focus on youth development and school-based programs. Lauren oversees day-to-day internal and external operations, working to grow the CARE Center's programs and services for the benefit of children and families across the parish.


Kelsi Biscoe

Operations Coordinator

Kelsi is a St. Charles Parish resident, volunteer, and parent with over a decade of experience in organizational finance and administration. She oversees the day-to-day operations of the CARE Center in addition to supporting all fundraising and programming efforts.

Sophia Lawson-Cornish


Sophia is a social justice-driven human services professional with a degree in International Politics and Human Rights from the University of California--San Diego. Informed by over 10 years of direct service provision among displaced and migratory communities, she applies an interdisciplinary approach to supporting families as they meet their capacity to aspire!
